Poorna Malavath on top of Mt. Elbrus

Poorna Malavath from India, the youngest girl in the world to have reached the summit of Everest (2014) scaled Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak in Russia and in Europe. Poorna (17) of Telengana was accompanied by her co-climbers Varsha Shelkende (27) of Maharashtra, Sri Vidya (16) of Telengana, Satya Rao (20) of Andhra Pradesh and Raghunath Reddy (29) of Andhra Pradesh.

According to Transcend Adventures, the company that has provided logistics for the team, they reached the summit at around 10:00 hrs.(IST) on 27th July, 2017. After reaching the summit, they unfurled a 50ft long Indian Tricolor singing the Indian National Anthem.

With this summit, Poorna completed three out of the Seven-Summits (Summiting highest peaks of all the continents).
