Indian Mountaineering Foundation and Pathajatra jointly to organize Expedition to Mt. Bhagirathi-III

IMF and Pathajatra are going to organize a Himalayan peak expedition to Mt. Bhagirathi (6454m) via virgin North Ridge in August-September 2015.

Leader, Debabrata Mukherjee said DW on 28-08-2015 explaining that they would make a first-attempt to the proposed route (via North ridge) of the expedition.

"First time in it's history IMF is organising an expedition jointly with a Club. I am feeling elated that they have chosen me to Lead. Five IMF members, 9 Pathajatra members, Doctor and myself starting for that Expedition today to Mt. Bhagirathi lll(3). (6454m).Bhagirathi lll though climbed by many foreign teams from Gangotri Glacier side but, never attempted by any Indian team that too by its North ridge from Upper Nandanvan base camp till 2014." Mr. Mukherjee said.

"IMF women's team tried that with my consultation in June, 2015 and returned from the Summit ridge. We are going to try the final mixed arête to register a new route. Please pray for the team." he added.
