'Friendship Expedition' turned back by unfriendly weather on peak Lenin

Dream Wanderlust | Aug 17 , 2016

Jake Preston and Anindya Mukherjee made a lightweight, two man attempt on Pik Lenin (7134m), Pamir, Kyrgyzstan, Between August 3-15.

All was going well until very heavy snow and high wind occurred August 12-15. This made the final ridge from camp 3 (6148m, Razdelnaya top) to the summit unclimbable to all teams.

Both Jake and Anindya are now safely down to Osh and feeling fully satisfied with expedition and efforts.

The message this lightweight expedition team carried was 'Stop Killing Start Climbing'.
