18 Indian climbers summited Everest from Tibet side

18 Indian climbers from Transcend Adventures summited the highest peak in the world, Everest (8848m) over a span of 2 days: 16th and 17th May, 2018 from Tibet side. 11 members reached the top on 16th and the rest summited on 17th.

The team who summited on 16th comprised Asha Kiran Rani (21), Surya Prakash (24), Mehul Joshi, Ajeet Bajaj (53), Deeya Bajaj (24), Parmesh (18), Manisha (19), Kavidas (19), Umakanth (19), K. Raja (24) and Shaik Himamsa (23).

Everest

Shaik Himamsa (23) from Andhra Pradesh Youth Service became the first person from the team to reach the summit of Everest at 1:55am. After that K. Raja from Andhra Pradesh Youth Service reached the summit at 3:21am with his Sherpa Nima Tashi. Kavidas and Umakanth from Dept. of Tribal Development, Govt. of Maharashtra stood at top of the world at 3:25am. At 4:25am Parmesh reached the summit followed by Manisha at 4:35am. Both of them are from Dept. of Tribal Development, Govt. of Maharashtra. Mehul Joshi from Gujarat and Surya Prakash from Andhra Pradesh made it to the summit at 4:30am. The father-daughter duo of Ajeet Bajaj and Deeya Bajaj reached the summit at 4:40am. In doing so they become the first father-daughter duo from India to have achieved this feat. Lastly Asha Kiran Rani from Andhra Pradesh summited at 7:20am.

The team of 7 climbers who summited on 17th consisted of J. Praveen (19), G. Raju (19), Prasanna Kumar (19), Bhanu Surya Prakash (19), Vikas (19), Vikram (25), I. Venkatesh (19). J. Praveen from Andhra Pradesh State Social Welfare Educational Institutions was the first one to reach at 4.15am followed by G. Raju who reached the summit at 4.45am. He belongs to the same institution. Prasanna Kumar, Bhanu Surya Prakash from Andhra Pradesh and Vikas from Maharashtra reached the summit at 4.50am. Vikram, who hails from Karnataka reached the summit at 6.25am. He is employed with the Karnataka Forest Department. I. Venkatesh from the Andhra Pradesh Welfare Residential School was the last person to reach the summit at 7am.

A total of 22 Sherpas assisted the above climbers in reaching the summit. Their details are listed below -
