Tapan Pandit and his team stared this upper Lingty Valley exploration on 20th Jan, 2012. The trek starts from Lalung in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh and through Sizpang top (5180 mt.) and along the Lingty River which comes out from the famous Yenzi Diwan (5800 mt.) pass and Lungar Ganma nala, the trail goes to the Rupshu valley. Through this route one can reach Tabo, located at east Spiti near the border area on Kinnaur. This was one of most popular traditional trade routes which connect Ruphsu and Spiti with shortest possible distance. Mr. Pandit and his team have explored this lost trail in 2012.
