Pune-based mountaineering group Giripremi scales Mt. Dhaulagiri

On 19th May another expedition team from Giripremi reached to the top of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Situated at the north of Pokhra, it is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres. This was Giripremi’s fifth consecutive successful summit of the mountain. With this feat Giripremi bagged the 5th eight thousander after Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu and now Mt. Dhaulagiri.
The team included Prasad Joshi, Ashish Mane and Pawan Hadole, along with Dorji Sherpa, Fu Dorji Sherpa, Ming Temba and Tenzen Sherpa. The summit bid started on May 12 from their base camp and Joshi was the only successful member to ascent to the top on May 19 after two unsuccessful attempts due to bad weather.
