Nepal names a mountain peak after Everest chronicler Elizabeth Hawley

Nepal has named a peak near its border with Tibet after a respected chronicler of mountain climbing and opened it to foreign mountaineers for climbing. The Elizabeth Hawley, U.S. citizen, came to Kathmandu, Nepal in 1960 as a journalist for Time magazine now maintain a Himalayan climbing database including Everest. The ministry of Tourism, Nepal named the peak to recognize and honour her contribution to the mountaineering activity in Nepal.
