Dream Wanderlust | May 21 , 2017

Anshu Jamsenpa (37) from Arunachal Pradesh, India with Furi Sherpa and Chong Karma Sherpa reached the summit of the Everest at around 8 AM today.

It's the second time she has notched up an Everest double ascent. She made her first ascent on 16 May and attempted the feat again on 21 May. Her previous feat was in 2011, but those ascents came 10 days apart. The current Guinness record for a woman’s double ascent is held by Nepalese climber Chhurim Sherpa, who reached the top twice during a seven-day period in 2012. Apart from her two double ascents, Ms Jamsenpa also scaled the mountain in 2013. She intended to make the summit in 2014 but the climbing season was cancelled due to avalanche killed 16 Nepali guides. Another attempt the following year was foiled after a massive earthquake that killed 18 people at Base Camp.
