A team from Bengal reached the summit of Mt. KR-1 and KR-2

On 10th August 2017, 3 climbers of a 6 members team from Bengal reached the summit of Mt. KR-1 at 8:40Hrs. Rest of the members reached the summit of Mt. KR-2 at 9:55Hrs on the same day.
The team consisted of six climbers namely Avijit Banerjee, Amit Bhattacharya, Amiya Kumar Barua (69), Sandip Bose, Amartya Sarkar, Ranadip Mondal and five high altitude porters namely Boby Thakur, Sanju Puranchand Thakur, Umesh Raina, Lekh Raj and Teja Thakur.
Avijit Banerjee was the leader of the team.
The team reached the base camp of KR range on 4th August, 2017 via Darcha and Patseo. After establishing two higher camps, the team was divided into two teams having 3 members each. One team reached the summit of Mt. KR-1 (6221 m) on 10th August at 8:40Hrs along with two HAPs and the other team successfully climbed Mt. KR-2 (6187 m) on the same day at 9:55Hrs along with three HAPs.
