Dear Viewer & Mountain lover,
We recall with happiness about our much adored The Himalayan Club, an icon, which is symbolic of a great tradition in the domain of mountaineering. The Himalayan Club, instituted in 1928 at Shimla and later registered in the city of Calcutta, is the earliest mountaineering club in the subcontinent and is certainly one of the oldest mountaineering clubs in the world with memberships and patronages worldwide; "...Climbing and Beyond", - one of our guiding principles, has inspired us over the years into mountaineering and all aspects of work, interest, aesthetic and service associated with mountains. As we look back into the pages of time and at the glorious trail behind us spanning nine long decades, we are happy to be credited with the some of the best climbs by the best mountaineers that blazed the trails-and-pitches in all major mountain systems of the world. We evolved with the times and committed ourselves to be responsible climbers and reaffirmed our faith in preservation of nature and that of communities who have made the mountains their home. On our Founders’ Day, which we intend to celebrate onthe 13th February, 2017, we, the members of The Himalayan club (Kolkata Section), wish to share with mountain lovers of the city of joy-Kolkata, our passions, ethos and achievements as enunciated by our speakers - the magnificent event shall also set-in-motion the curtain raiser to the 90th anniversary celebrations of The Himalayan Club.

We are delighted to inform that the following speakers shallbe among us on the Founders’ Day:
